It’s no news to anyone that people ride bicycles. Bike riding is one of the most popular hobbies in the United States. Nearly all of us learned when we were young. Taking off the training wheels was a rite of passage. And who doesn’t remember their most prized possession, their first bike. Bicyclists can be seen on sidewalks, bike trails and bike lanes on a daily basis anywhere you go. The problem, however, lies with their inability to properly acknowledge when a vehicle is approaching them from behind. What if we could develop a system that aide’s cyclists in detecting the most dangerous hazard on the road: incoming vehicles?
