Week 9: 10/21/2019 - 10/27/2019

The goals for this week were to: wire in the second vibration motor and add to the program, work on battery life indicator and run a battery pack test, and to continue working on getting an incoming speed reading. The vibration motor was added by following the route taken with the first motor. A seemingly working speed calculation was accomplished on a small scale, that we hope to test on larger speeds with a moving car in the coming days. As far as the battery tests go, the graphic for four different battery statuses were created for the TFT display (100%, 75%, 50%, and 25%). Unfortunately, after attempting to step the voltage from the DC output on the battery pack down to a value between 7-12V, we could not get the Arduino to power on. Because of this, we were unable to run the battery pack test to see how long we could run everything. This is now a goal for the next week of getting sufficient power to the Arduino for our proposed time of 5-6 hours. Seen below are a short video showcasing the battery life indicator, a new version of the detection screen that includes the speed calculation, as well as some heat shrink and Velcro that will be utilized to run the wires along the length of the bike.
