Week 3: 05/19/2019 - 05/25/2019
After the meeting with the other groups within Professor Notash's class, he encouraged us to explore other avenues outside of our three original project ideas. With increasing difficulty of meeting the requirements of the project, Professor Notash sent a short list of project ideas that would be more suitable for us to take on.

After brainstorming the different ideas, we decided to explore Object Detection for Hearing-Impaired Bicyclists. Before we met for our meeting we created a block diagram, preliminary budget and engineering requirements for our new project idea. We planned on creating a module for the handlebars of a bicycle that would house LED indicators for approaching vehicle distance, a screen showing real-time video data and an area to hold the cyclists phone. The distance and blind-spot location would be monitored with a Sonar Sensor and would all be controlled through an Arduino to save as much space on the bicycle as possible. A block diagram we created for visual purposes can be seen below as well as our preliminary budget list.
